In 1947, Joe M. Clarke founded Clarke Veneers and Plywood with the purpose of supplying veneers to a rapidly growing furniture industry in the economic boom that followed World War II. In the 1950s, Holden M. Clarke, Joe's son, joined the company. By the end of the decade the company had begun to focus on two important industries: cut-to-size veneers for the furniture industry and stock panel veneers for the hardwood plywood industry.

Today Clarke Veneers and Plywood continues to serve both of these industries with veneers that are sourced from excellent veneer mills. The veneers come from mills in North America as well as from mills in every other continent in the world, but Antarctica!

In recent years Clarke Veneers and Plywood has expanded its horizons by entering new markets and developing new products... such as panel products, engineered wood products and lumber. In 1999, Clarke purchased machinery and began slicing specialty veneers for laminated parts and plywood.
